At the recently held National AIDN YAA function in Canberra, Ellouise Tanks of ISCAustralia was awarded the inaugural National Young Achiever Award for 2008.  The award was presented by Kerry Clark and following is some of what he had to say about this prestigious event.

"In recognition of the important contribution made by young people working in the defence industry, the Australian Industry & Defence Network has created the AIDN National Young Achiever Award.

The Award is designed to acknowledge and encourage talented young people who are the key to the future and will one day lead the defence industry.

The Award is to be bestowed on the young individual identified as having performed in the most outstanding manner within the defence industry.

Nominees must be under 30 years of age on 1st January in the previous year prior to the Award and be currently employed in a defence related industry or undertaking full time study.  Nominees will be judged on their personal achievements and the impact of their contribution to the defence industry along with their creativity and professionalism.

In the inaugural year of this award a field of especially well qualified candidates has nominated. Coming from diverse vocational and professional backgrounds, they have one set of qualities in common: they are smart, determined, energetic, ambitious, focused, disciplined and an absolute credit to themselves and their employers".
